We are proud to have updated our qualifications and achieved a few more along the way. We’ve also expanded our fleet, supported The Purple Ball of Hope and ‘99ers’ Business network, visited the famous Bridgewater Hall, and had our loo twinned with a latrine halfway around the world.
Our December blog highlights the journey of Challenger Site Services throughout 2016 and we wouldn’t have changed a thing.
In January we ran a spotlight on an important member of the Challenger team, focussing on one of our long serving employees: Nigel Wild. Nigel has been working for Challenger Site Services since 2002. Apart from being the primary Yard Operative, he is also is our resident PAT Tester, Fire Marshal, Yard Marshal and Repair Specialist.
In March we kicked off the event season by getting our portable toilets ready for the Spring Bank Holiday rush and the many spring and summer events to follow. Shaun also headed off to the famous Water & Wastewater Equipment, Treatment & Transport Exhibition (WWETT), which is the largest exhibition of its kind in the world, and has been held at the Indiana Convention Centre in Indianapolis for over 30 years. It has been the major attraction for industry exhibitors to showcase their brightest innovations and newest products to professionals in the sector.
In May, Partner Shaun Allen visited the famous Bridgewater Hall to attend a concert performed by the Halle Orchestra, courtesy of our partners Brother UK, based in Audenshaw, through our involvement with the Pride of Tameside Business Awards.
In July, our colleague Jack Allen graduated from the University of Manchester with a 2:1 honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE). Jack aims to be a Lawyer. Robert, Shaun’s other son, started working full time at Challenger in 2009 and has since carved out a successful career in the family business. Shaun said: “I’m very proud of both my sons and their achievements. They are a credit to me, my wife and the business. It will be good to have Jack following a different career path as a solicitor while Robert is securing his place in the family business”.
In September, the Challenger year end was the best ever since we were established. We also received some great feedback from our customers. Here’s what one had to say….
“Excellent service in spite of only small requirements; good quality portable toilet and professional and friendly delivery and collection.” - Layla Cassidy, Facebook Review
In November, Challenger Site Services continued expanding by purchasing more toilets, acquiring new vehicles and taking on a new Hire Controller. We also successfully completed a customer audit from one of our biggest customers.
So, there you are …a snapshot of the year at Challenger Site Services.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our customers, suppliers and staff who have supported Challenger Site Services throughout 2016 and we look forward continuing these relationships again in 2017. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
