Nigel doesn’t only carry out the routine tasks at Challenger’s headquarters at Winton Street in Ashton -Under-Lyne; he often goes out on locations with the service & delivery drivers assisting in the loading, off-loading and servicing of portable toilets. He also assists in the training of new members of staff, passing on his experience and teaching the skills required to deliver, collect and service the Challenger Site Services fleet.
Nigel has enjoyed working for Challenger Site Services for many years and has commented that he feels the owners are like his extended family. He goes on to say “All the staff at Challenger are really friendly and treat you very well.” One of the funniest moments Nigel particularly remembers was when he was tricked into believing one of our toilets had been used by Hollywood Celebrities Samuel L. Jackson and Tommy Lee Jones whilst they were in Manchester filming scenes for the blockbuster hit film Captain America. Fake signs and messages were left in the particular toilet, which lead Nigel to believe he was literally cleaning up after Superstars. Nigel’s claim to fame was ended a few days later when his colleagues admitted the whole thing had been a set up - the prank is still fondly remembered today.
Nigel is also no stranger to the camera. Over the last few weeks he has appeared in the Challenger video for the launch of The Pride of Tameside Business Awards 2016 and the TMBC Tameside means Success Campaign.
We believe every organisation should have a Nigel. He is an invaluable member of the Challenger team, loyal, friendly, hardworking and a ‘top bloke’ too!
